Understanding Why Secularism Has Only Done Harm to Hindus
Tracing the Origin and History of the Doctrine.
Understanding Monotheism
When the European scholars in 18-19th centuries began to translate the literature of Bharat, they had difficulty with one word. That word was Dharma, no European language could completely express the nature of the word Dharma. So European Scholars used words such as Religion, Righteousness, law, tradition etc. according to the context. Scholars of Bharat did not think of correcting this mistake and decided to go with Dharma=Religion.
The Move was very Economical, so that all the Sects of Sanatana Dharma – Smarta, Shaiva, Vaishnava, Shakta, Saurya, and Ganapathi on one side, and Islam and Christianity on the other, were brought within the Circumference of the one common denomination — Dharma. Among the schools of Sanatana Dharma, the tradition of mutual tolerance and Equal regard was as old as the schools. This tradition was now extended to Islam & Christianity without any doubt, hesitation or research. But all schools of Sanatana Dharma were kufr and had nothing in common with the unique revelation from Allah. If an attempt had been made to understand the nature of Islam and Christianity, and why we had nothing in common with them things would have been different. But Indian scholars paid no heed to statements from the Quran and from the Spokesmen of Christianity and Islam.
“The Hindu Society should shed the illusion that it alone is competent to speak on behalf of all other societies” - Sita Ram Goel
Before the rise of Christianity, no Trace of any bloodshed regarding the mode of worship can be found in the history of the world. With the advent of Islam, even the areas of the world were also drenched in blood where the sword of Christianity had not reached. Christianity along with European Imperialism reached the countries of America, Africa and Asia, While the armies of Turkish Imperialism strived to spread Islam in Europe, the Middle East and Bharat. The whole history of the spread of Monotheism is the history of the use of force in various ways, Armed force, Economic force or a combination of both, by some imperialism or the other.
In the process of expansion, three facts stare at us
1) The followers of Monotheism destroyed the religious places of other faiths, broke or defiled the sacred images of their gods, burnt their sacred scriptures, killed their priests and saints, and made untiring efforts to destroy their cultures.
2) The Monotheists converted the followers of other faiths at the point of the sword or by tempting them with money, privilege or humiliating them in other ways.
3) The monotheists slaughtered in cold blood the defeated warriors of the other faiths, enslaved and sold their innocent families in far-off lands, and plundered all their properties. Those who survived were made second-class citizens, burdened with taxes (Jizya) and many disabilities
The Apologists of Christianity and Islam attribute the blame for these horrors of history to the innate barbarism of this or that conqueror tribe, (Iranians, Turkish, Arabs etc.) and pronounce that in principle there is no place for force in Monotheistic faiths. History stands witness that whenever and wherever the followers of Monotheism have used force, its use has been openly praised by their clerics and historians. They state quite clearly that the use of force is sanctioned by their religion, and quote the relevant commandments from their scriptures.
After the coming of the last prophet, Mankind was divided into two groups. One group professes complete faith in the last prophet and begins to follow the path shown by him. The other group is that which professes doubts regarding the last prophet or repudiates him. No mode of worship or cultural heritage or social custom of the earlier period remains valid and the complete destruction of whatever prevailed earlier is considered conducive to the salvation of mankind. Monotheism presents no proof in support of any of its propositions, the status of the prophet is hailed because he claims that the one god only speaks through him. Monotheism recognizes truth not as eternal but as the latest. This definition of truth can only be termed as downright ridiculous. And when it is said that truth has become complete after the advent of the last prophet and nothing can be added to or subtracted from it, then the definition contradicts itself.
With the decline of Christianity in the Western countries, there erupted a volcano of materialism and Consumerism. The incurable epidemic of Consumerism which is pushing the world towards destruction today had its seed in the Monotheism of Christianity, and Islam follows the same path, Contrary to the tradition of Advaita which sees extension of the same Divinity in all animate and inanimate beings, Imposing limits on Consumption.
The Tradition of Monotheism gives birth to Aurangzeb and the tradition of Advaita to Chatrapathi Shivaji
Understanding The Rise and Development of Secularism
In the countries of Europe, after the 4th and before the 8th century, there was a strong bond between the Christian Church and the State. The function of the State was to supervise the control the worldly (secular) life of its subjects and also secure their salvation in the next world. So long as the continent of Europe retained communities which were yet to be converted to Christianity, cooperation between the church and state continued smoothly. Absolute liberty was given by the Church to the king to spread Christianity by the use of a sword or any other means. Thereafter, a time came in the 15th century when the whole of Europe became Christianized. The kings no more needed the blessings of the Church, the state became restless against the stronghold of the Church. In the 16th century, widespread revolts broke out against the church and Christianity got splintered into several sects.
Fortunately for Europe, during that very period, the leading thinkers of Europe had come in contact with ancient civilizations, and the culture of ancient Greece was the foremost. And were also influenced by the cultures of Bharat and China (humanism, rationalism & universalism). The people of Europe revolted against Christianity, it did not have the capacity to pass the test posed by reason & the whole mumbo-jumbo of Christianity crumbled. In the 19th century, the state was liberated from the stronghold of the church in every country in Europe. The state, thus freed from the stronghold of the Church, became known as the “Secular State”
Understanding Indian Secularism
In this hallowed land of Sanatana Dharma where, before the advent of Islam, there had never been bloodshed in the name of Dharma. We have only invited great trouble for ourselves by importing the alien concept of Secularism from Europe. In the ethos and history of Europe, many concepts originated, which we cannot understand without a proper study of that ethos and history. When we adopt those concepts by translating them literally and making them current in our country which has had a different ethos and history, then we not only render those concepts invalid but also corrupt and obscure the heritage of our culture. The concept of Secularism which we have made current in our politics by calling it sarva-dharma-samabhava is one such concept. The ideology which was propagated and spread in Europe was not traceable in Indian history.
The Hindu society throughout its long history had never displayed any sort of religious fanaticism, nor ever used state power for spreading its faith. To preach Secularism to this society, was like showing a lamp to the sun. After independence, the mullahs and missionaries who had exhibited ceaseless hostility toward Sanatana Dharma began to speak with one voice that there was a great danger to the religion of Muslims and Christians from the majority Hindu. The Muslims and the Christians were given complete freedom to propagate and spread their creeds to the best of their capacity. And this suicidal policy was advertised as “Secularism”. The evil consequences of this pervert policy began to appear soon.
Where did we fail?
1) The Hindu society got engaged in the self-destructive process of being on the defensive without understanding the perversion of secularism.
2) The Hindu society could not muster the courage to proclaim that it is the national society of Bharat, and that people who accuse it of being communal are themselves the biggest traitors.
3) A very serious mistake the Hindus had committed was keep on repeating the slogan of ”Sarva-dharma-samabhava” (equal respect to all dharmas)
4) Entertaining “samabhava” (equal regard) towards Islam and Christianity, by giving them the status of Dharma is to extend an invitation to doom.
5) Not realising soon that wherever the impact of Islam & Christianity has grown, it has given filip to treason. Islam severed Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Which were once part of the Motherland. The increasing spell of Christianity in the North-East is inciting moves of Separatism
6) No thinker or Scholar tried to study Islam and find the root cause for their lunatic behaviour and the source of Muslim insanity. No knowledge about the criminal character of Islam until modern times.
7) 50 years after the death of Aurangzeb, when Muslim rule in India drew towards its end, now the Marathas were the mightiest power in India. The Mughal Emperor was at their mercy. Unfortunately, the Marathas did not wipe out Islam when they had the opportunity. Had it unfurled the Saffron Flag at Delhi, History would have been different.
